ENDORSES RIKKE VAN JOHNSON FOR MAYOR

On Sunday, October 20, 2013 San Bernardino Councilman Rikke Van Johnson, a Mayoral candidate, was endorsed for that office by the Chicano Latino Caucus – Inland Empire. “I am so grateful this esteemed organization recognizes that throughout my career of servant leadership, I represented all residents with integrity and with a heart for my community,” stated Councilman Johnson. Councilman Johnson adds this organizations support alongside the endorsements of the Democratic Luncheon Club and the Westside Action Group.

DEMOCRATIC LUNCHEON CLUB ENDORSES
RIKKE VAN JOHNSON FOR MAYOR

On Friday, September 20, 2013 San Bernardino Councilman Rikke Van Johnson, a Mayoral candidate, was endorsed for that office by the San Bernardino Democratic Luncheon Club. “I am honored and humbled to receive the endorsement of such an esteemed organization,” stated Councilman Johnson.

The Democratic Luncheon Club was formed in the 1930's and was reorganized as a chartered Democratic Club in 1993. The largest and most active Democratic club in the Inland Empire, there mission is to present Democrats and their ideas to the public and to advance the ideals of the Democratic Party.

Contemporary ideas of progressive Democrats are presented virtually every Friday at Noon in a successful one-hour format at Democratic Headquarters, 136 Carousel Mall in San Bernardino. ”

RIKKE VAN JOHNSON LAUNCHES CAMPAIGN FOR
MAYOR OF SAN BERNARDINO

On Thursday, May 16, 2013 Sixth Ward Councilman Rikke Van Johnson launched his effort for Mayor of San Bernardino with the theme “Campaign for L.I.F.E.” - L.I.F.E. is an acronym for Leaders, Investors, Friends and Everyone.

Johnson’s vision for the City of San Bernardino is a safe and prosperous community which offers a wide range of housing, recreation, education, cultural and employment opportunities for all who come to live and work here. An area that will continue to provide a strong sense of community; and continue to grow and prosper so all San Bernardino residents will have access to a better quality of life.

Johnson’s goal is to help create, grow and maintain economic value in the city, which will aid the community to realize all the necessities that define quality of life.

His areas of focus will be; Public Safety to reduce crime rates with an emphasis on decreasing gang violence and gang activity, Participation of the People in government with the realization that a government goes bad when it’s citizens are not engaged, Beautification of the community that has experienced neglect, Stimulation of the Economy by working on job creation to maintain, strengthen and grow the existing businesses. Other areas of focus are to partner with the area school systems to achieve Quality Education, knowing that we cannot achieve the vision unless we have an educated workforce and Simplification of our Government which is ambiguous and antiquated.

“I truly believe that this is the frame work for a pathway to strengthening, sustaining and restoring our City,” stated Johnson. “The City of San Bernardino will once again be that proud ‘City on the Move’ by achieving what a city does best to reflect what a great city has to offer. This will be achieved by working together with a vision, a plan and a hope that tomorrow will be a better day than today.”

6TH WARD TOWN HALL MEETING

On Thurseday, June 20, 2013 at 6:00pm, San Bernardino City Councilman Rikke Van Johnson will host a town hall meeting at the Inghram Community Center. He will give an update regarding the backruptcy. Also, Fire Chief George Avery will be the special guest speaker.

"This will be the opportunity for our community to meet our new Fire Chief as he shares his vison as well as the direction he wants to lead the San Bernardino Fire Department," stated Councilman Johnson. A brief question and answer period will follow Chief Avery's presentation.
